Peninsula Clean Energy EV Ready Program
The Peninsula Clean Energy EV Ready Program provides funding to help businesses, schools, and property owners prepare their sites for EV charging. It covers a significant portion of make-ready infrastructure costs—including electrical upgrades, trenching, conduit, and wiring—so installing chargers becomes faster and more affordable.

Incentive: $2,500 per L1/L2 outlet and up to $5,000 per Level 2 charging port. Additional incentives include $2,000 per make-ready space and up to $5,000 for panel upgrades. Covers up to 75% of total project costs, with property caps depending on site type.

Application PROCESS
1. Check Eligibility
Confirm your property is located within Peninsula Clean Energy’s service area and meets program requirements (business, school, multifamily, or public site).
2. Complete Pre-Application
Submit a pre-application form with basic project details:
- Site information
- Number of parking spaces / planned EV spaces
- Existing electrical capacity (if known)
3. Site Assessment & Scope
Work with your contractor or partner to:
- Evaluate electrical infrastructure
- Define the number of make-ready spaces / future ports
- Develop a preliminary project scope and cost estimate
4. Submit Full Application
Provide detailed documentation, including:
- Project design and site plan
- Itemized cost estimates (make-ready work)
- Contractor information
- Timeline for installation
5. Receive Reservation Approval
Peninsula Clean Energy reviews the application and issues a funding reservation based on eligible scope and budget.
(Important: Do not start construction before approval.)
6. Complete Installation
Proceed with make-ready infrastructure work:
- Trenching, conduit, wiring
- Panel or electrical upgrades
- Parking space preparation
7. Final Documentation & Inspection
Submit completion documents:
- Paid invoices
- Photos of completed work
- Permits and approvals (if required)
7. Incentive Payment
After verification, receive rebate payment based on approved scope (up to program limits and % of cost).
